Sub: Restoration of essential supply services, such as water and power including medical and food in the flood-affected areas of the Konkan region.
Dear Sir,
With reference to the subject as cited above, it is to be requested that heavy rains had wreaked havoc in the various parts of the Konkan region. Many areas in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts have been badly affected by the rain and life has completely been paralysed. The rains have caused floods and landslides at various places. Due to this, several people have lost their precious lives in the past couple of days. The affected areas have no electricity and water supply, due to which people are facing great difficulties.
The people in the affected areas are not getting adequate food and water. Now the flood water has receded in the different parts of the affected areas. But the houses, shops and establishments which were submerged underwater are now filled with muck.
Hence, the restoration of essential supply services, such as water and power including medical and ready to eat food is urgently needed to ease the difficulties people are facing in the affected areas. Apart from restoring the power and water supplies, there is also an urgent need to tackle the threat of disease outbreaks.
Therefore, your good self is requested kindly to take immediate steps to restore the power supply as well as potable water supply at the earliest possible please and make necessary arrangements to distribute ready to eat food and to carry out medical check-ups and distribute medicines.
